Active Release Technique® (ART)

Active Release Technique® is a form of myofascial release that can be used to treat problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. The by-product of this technique involves increased range of motion, increased circulation to the injured area, breakup of scar tissue, and decreased tension within the tissue. Once we have determined that your pain is due to myofascial trigger points (tender areas), we then use our hands to palpate the area to identify the specific muscles that need treated. We then recheck the same movements after treatment to see if we have made an improvement or if we need to address other areas of restriction. The aim is to decrease the amount of time needed to successfully treat a neuromusculoskeletal condition and improve patient biomechanics long-term. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.
